IN FOCUS: Using XBRL Tables

The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) is pleased to announce an upcoming webcast that will provide an overview of the 2012 U.S. GAAP Financial Reporting Taxonomy (UGT) and focused discussions on certain aspects of the UGT. The areas covered will include:

  • 2012 UGT—Highlights of major changes
    • Accounting Standards Updates
    • Rationalization of elements and axes
    • Expanded disclosures for common reporting practices
    • Updated modeling to improve usability and consistent application
  • Using the UGT, with a focus on:
    • Dimensions
    • Period types
    • Definition structure and components
    • Extension Taxonomy Change Application Tool (TC App)
    • Mini-guides for Stockholders’ Equity and Subsequent Events
Speakers: Louis Matherne, FASB Chief of Taxonomy Development; Donna Johaneman, FASB Project Manager-XBRL; David Shaw, FASB XBRL Technical Accounting Research Associate; and Susan Yount, Office of Interactive Data, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this program, participants will understand the changes to the 2012 UGT, definition structure and components, and use of dimensions and period types.

Each participant must be registered separately and meet both polling and duration requirements as per NASBA.
