ALEX CASAS, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Before joining the FASB Staff, Alex accumulated 14 years of financial services industry experience in the banking and insurance sectors. Most recently, he served as the global head of accounting policy for a global systemically important bank, where he led an international team of accounting professionals advising on a wide range of complex transactions, new product developments, strategic initiatives, and accounting standards implementations. Prior to banking, Alex held a variety of accounting policy and finance roles in the insurance sector and began his career in public accounting at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Alex holds a CPA license in the state of Massachusetts. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration magna cum laude.
